Get on the Web 2 Moving Walkway

MetaLearning sees an increased pace of change since 2004 when the Web 2.0 tipping point occurred.  Web 2.0 allowed students and faculty to be connected at all times in many different virtual contexts.  Where the classroom used to be the locus of almost all student-faculty interaction, now more of more of it is occuring through email, text, blogs, wikis, social sites, class Web sites, learning management systems, electronic portfolios and other Web-based interactions.

Administrators and faculty often feel unsure about how to adjust their teaching approaches and curricula to fit this new distributed communication arena.  What specifically do the various departments and offices on campus do?  Just buy the latest technology and hope things will be ok?

MetaLearning, LLC, helps campuses create a coherent, coordinated plan for change that includes the whole enterprise.  The plan starts with re-considering the basic nature of an assignment and how some simple changes there can add value for the student in this Web 2.0 world and also benefit the institution.
